WALL THERMAL INSULATION: RIVIT SOLUTIONS

Thursday, June 28, 2018

Thermal insulation is an important technology to reduce energy consumption in buildings.

The wall thermal insulation is made of a series of insulating layers applied externally or internally to the walls of the buildings, to ensure complete insulation. This system allows a considerable energy saving, maintaining high internal temperatures in winter, and preventing the heat of the sun from penetrating inside the building during summer.

The thermal insulation may be done either on the inside or outside walls, roof or floors. The internal thermal insulation consists in placing the insulating panels on the inside walls of the houses. This is a widely used measure in urban buildings and in roof insulation.

Rivit is always committed to developing accessories for riveting tools. For instance, when there is the need of working in vertical positioning, the new handle for RIV300 can be applied on the tool.

The external insulation envelope is widely used for the facades of apartment buildings. The external thermal envelope, in addition to greater insulation, ensures the prevention of damage to external walls (such as cracks or mould) and the reduction of thermal bridges.

To make the thermal insulation envelope you can use different materials, either synthetic or natural. Among the most used synthetic materials there are polystyrene, expanded or extruded (ESP and XPS), and PVC. They feature low costs and excellent insulating characteristics.

The materials of natural origin (wood or glass fiber panels, cork and rock wool) are excellent thermal and acoustic insulators. However, they can be very expensive because they require longer processing.

Rivit offers many types of plugs to fix insulating panels.

The nylon PNE series of light fixings feature a self-drilling tip for layer of plaster and glue so they do not require any pre-drilling. Moreover, with the new-patented system, the final thread clings to the glue, and guarantees greater share and tensile strengths.

The PNE wall plugs ensure that there is no thermal loss and are ideal for fixing composite insulation systems, such as polystyrene and expanded polyurethane panels.

The series includes plugs TX40, SW10 and SW13 for each type of use.

The PNEM895 is an adjustable plug, easy and quick to assemble and is ideal for fixing vertical gutter parts.
It guarantees a direct fixing in the insulating material, without thermal bridge because it has a zinc-coated threaded stud pre-inserted into the plug itself.

It is used on composite systems for external thermal insulation (ETICS), polystyrene panels, hard foam panels, wood insulation panels (13mm pre drilling). It can be used on almost all facades covered with insulating materials (more than 100mm thick), withstands high pull forces and cutting loads (0.10Kn in EPS polystyrene).

It is possible to fix the plug with a hexagon SW17 (recommended) or with a hexagon SW13 or a drill bit TX25.

The PNS series is made of special screws for direct fixing in composite thermal insulation systems (ETICS), quickly and without thermal bridges. It is used on walls connection profiles, sheet metal, protection profiles, frames, motion detectors, lighting, etc. and is suitable for any insulated façade (from 80mm).

The PNS series does not need a pre-drilled hole, thanks to its sharp tip and guarantees extremely quick assembly.

Equipped with an elegant flat head with EPDM gasket, it ensures an excellent seal and adaptability to the surface.

The screw is made of nylon reinforced with glass fiber, resistant to wear, atmospheric factors and UV rays. Available in several colors, it can be used on the most common materials.
